Happy Birthday Porter

Porter is 2. I can't believe it!!

We had a barbecue with the Davis family Saturday and then a party on Sunday with the Steen's. He was finally catching on to the idea that this was all for him on Sunday. I feel bad, when Bailey and Dallin were small I got into decorating a cake. Well I don't anymore. I have no creativity or time. This year I decorated a few cupcakes like trains and called it good. I really don't think he cared. His favorite toys were the trains that he received. You can't have too many of them. Soon we will have enough track to go around all the furniture in our family room. So far he has slept with every engine. He is cute.

Bailey: No, I am going to go outside and get a grass stain.

Porter: He drive me in the truck. He go camping.

Porter: No.

Me: I feed you lunch and play with you.

Porter: My dad make lunch and play too.

Me: (checking to see if he knew his colors) What color are mom's eyes?
Porter: Blue.
Me: (holding him infront of a mirror) Can you see your eyes? What color are they?
Porter: Yellow. Mom, you have yellow teeth.
Mom: Ummmm, not really what I wanted to hear.

We were preparing to take the family to the Draper Temple Open House.
Me: (singing) I love to see the Temple. I'm going there today.
Wyatt: (laughing) That's not how it goes mom.
Me: Oh, was I singing it wrong?
Wyatt: Yeah it goes like this. I love to see the Temple I'm going there Sunday to see the Holy Spirit. Oops I think that is wrong.
Me: I don't think either one of us have it right.

I was getting ready to take the truck in to be inspected. It was during the day so I only had Wyatt and Porter at home.
Me: OK boys, go get in the truck. Lets go.
Wyatt: I think I will just stay home.
Me: (A little caught off guard)Ummm....you are only 5, not old enough to stay home alone.
Wyatt: Why? I will be careful Mom.
Me: Let's go we will be back in a few minutes.
Wyatt: Savannah can come over and watch me.
Me: Savannah is 4. I don't think her mom will let her babysit you. Good try.
Wyatt: Well then, call her mom. She will watch me.
Me: We could have been there and back by now. Get in the truck please.

Wyatt: Mom! Mom! Mom!
Me: What?!!!!!
Wyatt: Look (pointing at his cheek)
Me: What?
Wyatt: I finally have frokles like you and Dallin. (really big smile)
Me: Yea!!!
I have been telling Dallin his freckles are cute because they are just like mine. Wyatt thinks it is great he has a few.

Porter: Tain coming. Toys poe me. (Train is coming. Toys for me)
Porter had watched Polar Express so many times that he thought the train came to get everyone on Christmas Eve.

Mom: Grandma & Grandpa are coming. We are going to go out to eat.
Wyatt: It's raining outside. I don't want to eat outside.
Mom: No, out to a restaurant.

The boys and I were at the bank drive through window. A fly is bugging me. I roll down my window to get it out and this is what Wyatt said.
"NO!! Mom that was our pet fly.......Maybe he had to go home."

I am helping Wyatt practice writting his name. I point to the "W" and say what it is. Porter who is looking at it upside down said "No, McDododes". Yes that does look like the McDonald arches. We rarely eat there, and Porter can pick them out of nowhere. What is it with kids and McDonalds. I really don't get it.

We were getting ready for bed after a weekend with the Davis Family. Rosalyn and Dave were on their way to Hawaii while mom was watching their kids.
Bailey: Mom, where is Rosalyn and Dave spending the night tonight?
Mom: In Las Vegas
Wyatt: Why are they lost?
Mom: No not Lost Vegas. Las Vegas.

Wyatt: Mom why didn't he say "But wait there's more"?

Wyatt: (running to the window) I don't see the flood. Dad where is it? I can't see it.

Wyatt: Mom can I have lemonade?
Mom: Yes
Wyatt: How do you make lemonade anyway?
Mom: Lemons, lots of sugar, and water.
Wyatt: I don't want water in mine.
Mom: That's gross and you don't get to special order your lemonade.

Shane is pulling into St. George at night
Shane: Look guys there is St. George
Wyatt: I can't see him. Where is he?
Shane: It is a town not a man.

We pull into the hotel.
Wyatt: Is St. George in there?
Denette: St. George is like Mapleton. It is a town.

We get up in the morning. Wyatt has a hold of some new underwear.
Denette: Wyatt, put that in the suitcase. We are ready to go.
Wyatt: No, I want to show it to St. George. Will he be at breakfast?

Mom: Wyatt, who is your girlfriend?
Wyatt: Lindsay Starr (Babysitter)
Dallin: Dad says no girlfriends until after your mission!!!
